Hey!
I'm Kashika, a counseling psychologist (M.Sc. Clinical Psychology), with 1+ years and 350+ sessions of experience.
Using a trauma informed approach, I aim to create a safe space where you feel seen, heard, and validated, allowing for deep exploration and understanding of your experiences. Drawing from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and somatic techniques, I tailor my practice to meet your unique needs and goals.
I work with concerns like anxiety, depression, early childhood trauma, family issues, interpersonal relationships, and more.
I am here to sit with you through the happiness and pain, through overwhelm and grounding, and through challenge and resolution. I may not tell you what to do because I have not lived your life - but I will help you pause, evaluate, and ask yourself the difficult questions.
Know More About Me as a Therapist
Therapy is not just talking - it includes talking, but it goes beyond that - it is about showing up for ourselves persistently, and deciding to move through the process in all its comfort and discomfort. Therapy is a layered journey that looks different for everyone. On some days it may feel calming and grounding, on others it may be overwhelming and difficult. In that way, it mirrors how life is: unique and full of potential. To trust another person to see our journey from our eyes and understand and care for us as a human being who deserves care and love.
How I think of therapy
As a therapist, I love to bring curiosity, connection, and slowness to the therapy room. I believe that these are the most wonderful aspects of being human. A big chunk of therapeutic work in my practice involves working with the lived stories of our emotions, survival patterns, and attachments. I believe that all of us know how to lead our lives - but when we allow ourselves to be seen by another human for who we are, we become who we can be.
How I am as a therapist
My work as a therapist has been one of the most meaningful things I have done so far. I have first-handedly seen the beauty of therapy, and I wanted to help others in distress access the support and love that they deserve. My work has changed me as a person, and I cannot be more grateful for this.
Why I Became a Therapist
The best part about being a therapist is allowing others and ourselves to be human! Something we may not find in the outer world. The safety and sanctity of this work is beyond words.
